The first one, perhaps. However, I'm not entirely convinced of the price. I recently bought some "rubbish" online and I won't be doing that again in a hurrry.

I definitely need to see and feel the table first.

I definitely need to see and feel the table as well. The closest shop to us is in Besancon. We'll take a road trip one Saturday.

There are always good tables at the charity shops. You have to stalk them a bit though.

I am also looking for help.... I want to redecorate my living room for quite a while, but I am unable to decide what it is best for it. To make it a bit more complicated, the room has an odd shape. After playing tetris with the floor plan for a couple of weeks, I am now looking for trying for find a decorator/designer/expert friend to give me a hand with it.
Hi Lucy, I'm doing a course in interior design and would be happy to have a look at your room. It'd be interesting for me to see if I could come up with any useful suggestions for you, as so far my only experience has been in designing my own living spaces. If you're interested, pm me.

Lausanne is too far away for me unfortunately, but I totally agree with previous posts - if you've got a piece of furniture you love, even if it's just one chair, it makes a lot of sense to try fit new furniture around this one piece when redecorating. I believe some interior designers are known for decorating a room even just around one painting!

Hi miniMia.

How is your Safari going?
If you are hiring an appartment.. don't paint the wooden stuff white without asking the owner.
But I agree.. many combined kinds of wood is not everyones dream.

I'm sure you'll find your perfect moods for your home ..don't forget that the materiality of the floors takes an important part inside a room (even on pics at maisondumonde) and can be the basic of following decisions. If your concept previews colours on the walls you can contact me.

Have a nice day!

Re: Decorators. Interior Designers.

I went to Maison du Monde in Besancon. It was really nice! I could live there. But it's a small place so you won't get to see all the items in the catalog.

I also went to the Home & Garden show in Lausanne. It was so huge though I couldn't barely get through it.

I was a bit overzealous with this thread as we won't be moving in until May. I just can't wait to get back home!

Don't worry. I own the place to the owner won't mind if I paint! But, the more I talk go people the more I think I'm not going to paint because the Swiss like the wood unpainted. When we sell it could be a problem. I'm going to have to find another way..... If there is one....

Re: Decorators. Interior Designers.

I bought a second hand ex-pub pine table for £25 like the second one in your links and just painted the legs myself and used an oak stain on the table top. Granted this was in Britain but worth keeping your eyes peeled for someone offloading a pine table.

Re: Decorators. Interior Designers.

Finally! We are all moved in. Yeah.

And Uncle Max can rest easy. I'm not feeling so overwhelmed by the decorating task ahead of me. It's not looking as bad as I originally thought it would.

I have a list of stuff I want to order from Maison du Monde and am considering a road trip to Besancon to have a second look. If anyone wants to join, let me know & we can plan.

Now I'm looking for a handy person to redo the kitchen counter tops and a garden person to fix the disaster that is the garden.

One day at a time, and all that!

How is everyone else doing?

Re: Decorators. Interior Designers.

Hope your project goes well! There are many ideas here to consider and research I just finished my study and can't tell you how great it is to have a room that I love to work in...Setting up a house in a way that you like (and to work with that you have) is a big undertaking, but it is worth it in the end..Best of luck, Q

That's beautiful! I would love that room. It's a style I love. But our house doesn't suit that style and I'm having a bit of a problem fitting stuff into this style of house. It's a bit farmhouse meets pre-fab. (or something. )

Re: Decorators. Interior Designers.

Of course, these things work in very particular places but I am happy that I got to use some of my furniture collection in our flat. Good luck ( and more importantly, have fun!).
