I am planning to buy an apartment in Lausanne area. So I wanted to ask if now (first half of 2012) is a good timing for buying an apartment? I know the prices are kind of at their peak, while the interest rates are quite low. Can I have an expert suggestion on whether the prices/interest rates would probably rise/fall in the coming months/years in the Lausanne area? I'm not in a rush for this, so if it's really wise to wait, I'd prefer to pay less but buy a place later, late 2012 or 2013.

IMHO it's certainly a good moment to sell but not to buy around the Geneva Lake area. So if you can afford to wait...

I would agree with the other poster... now is really the time to wait while the housing bubble bursts. I have been keeping an eye on the housing market on Comparis since the last 2 years and the prices have been falling constantly. World economies and housing prices are all falling at the moment... Switzerland really isn't any different. Good luck in your search
