Moving from Barcelona to Basel ( Mudanza )

Hi!

We have quite a bunch of things in Barcelona and we want to move them to Basel. Is there anyone that wants to share the transport and reduce costs?
In principle, we plan to do it within the next months, so we're quite flexible. We're even open to any suggestion about the moving company to use.

Tenemos un buen montón de cosas que queremos traernos de Barcelona a Basel. Hay alguien a quien este trayecto le vaya bien y quiera compartir el porte? Así reducimos gastos. Nuestra idea era hacer el traslado durante los próximos meses, así que somos bastantes flexibles al respecto. Estamos abiertos incluso a sugerencias sobre qué compañía de mudanzas usar.

If you can sell off some of your things it might be better cos it costs a lot to transport stuff nowadays.

Good luck anyway and keep hunting for best offer.

As a suggestion, I would start at the Spanish end. Since the economy is not in great shape you should be able to get a better deal than going through someone here.

You could also send a PM to Nil. I think she just moved to Barcelona from the Zurich area (not sure of where exactly). She should be able to give you some details on their experience.

Selling used furniture will normally net you about 10-20 percent of the replacement cost here in CH so I would suggest that if the transportation cost is not over the top that I would bring everything.

Calling me?

We moved with the help of a relocation company so I don't have much experience but I know someone who did the trip with a van. Basel-Barcelona is a 10 hours trip. I wish I had have done it, it must be fun. You can rent a truck in BCN and drop it in Zurich, I believe?

It is totally worthed to bring your stuff because you'll lose too much money by selling it over here and have to buy stuff in CH again.

Beside that, I get the idea that people here aren't too much into buying second hand stuff...

Yep, that was mi idea. Surely, the price in Spain is way cheaper than here in Basel.

Well, I thought about renting a truck... But I'm not too fond of long trips by cars. On my youth I used to drive from Barcelona to Sevilla, which is kind of the same distance, but I think that now I would miss my coach. :P

I agree with you that is not really worthy to sell things out, and I'm a bit attached to them...
