How is it in Richterswil ZH?

Hello!

I wonder if anyone lives in Richterswil Zh or know anything about it.
We are looking for somewhere around Pfäffikon SZ and found a great place in Richterswil so I wonder if anyone know anything?
How is it to live there? Is it good schools?

Thankful for all information!

Best Regards,
Anna

It's a sedentary place but with great views and lots of quiet money living there you could certainly pick worse places to live. You'll have to come into Zurich if you want any excitement though.

Agree with Uncle Max - Pretty quiet (except the lantern parade once a year), but great views of the lake, and nice badi in the summer. Close to motorways and skiiing if that's important.
Best to be close to station near lake for best train connections. Steep hills in some places (hence the views).
Property prices still Ok(ish), but likely to increase in the future due to 'closeness' to Zurich.

We are now living in Uster ZH and like it a lot with just 10 minutes to Zurich with s-bahn.
But as my husband now works in Wollerau are we looking there and I also wonder if anyone knows anything about the schools there. The public schools!

Surely you are not refering to me Uncle M?

We love it here. Easy to get to work (Zurich / Zug); great train connections to Zurich; close to the mountains; great views; nice town center.

Hej Fresko,

Personally, I think Richterswil is great. People are friendly and you have plenty of good grocery shops. It's true that it is rather quiet here (sorry, but we are in Switzerland). You have a cute village center and the "Badi" is nice. The tax rate is, unfortunately, not as attractive as in Pfäffikon. Our local school is good - so far. However, it all depends on the teacher and the kids. Good luck!

Re: How is it in Richterswil ZH?

I don't live there but have a lot of friends who do. They really like it and will stay long term, most of them have bought houses. Property prices are increasing all the time and they have no, few or only very minor complaints about the local primary schools. I would say it's pretty desirable with a good quality of life, good for families though not really exciting...
