| Moving apartment - proposed a tenant, but regie wanted another months rent!
We handed in our official notice, along with the documents of four candidates who wanted our apartment in Geneva, on Jan 6th, for moving in Feb 15th (one months notice). The landlord wanted his friend to move in and thus did not contact the candidates we proposed.
Just now at the last minute, the landlords friend backed out. Of course now the regie contacts the 4 candidates, but they have all since found other apartments.
The regie now claims that we have to pay another months rent and find someone for March 15th. Surely we are in the right here? It was the landlords choice not to take the four candidates we proposed, but instead taking his friend who let him down in the end.
Any advice?
