I ll start working in Turgi in some weeks and I am searching for a area/village to rent a house. Can you suggest me any nice place around which will be convenient to go in Turgi every day to work? I prefer to have the basic amenities and to be commutable to Zürich.

Hello, and welcome to the Forum. I don't think we have met, but no doubt we might if you are moving to this region.

Are you looking for anything in particular? Like, something for your cat, dog or parakeet? Wife, children, chickens?

Living and working in Turgi might be a bit much for you if you are young and commitmentless. Might I suggest finding somewhere in Baden, which at least burps some effort at a night-life.
Or even Zurich, where you can join the masses which commute out of the city, into Baden/Turgi ABB/Alstomville every day.

We live in Turgi and commute to Zurich every day to work. It's 26 mins on the fast train and 36 mins on the direct train - not overly long if you prefer to live in a place with busy nightlife, lots of restaurants etc.

There's lots of cute little villages around Turgi, and we like Baden (but can't tell you which areas are best to live in) - but I think it'll depend on what you're hoping to get out of where you live. We chose Turgi because we bought a house with a huge garden, but probably wouldn't choose to rent there if we had other options.

For all those living in the area we should do a EF BBQ in the summer or something...

I will work in Turgi but I d prefer to live in Baden than Zurich. I think Turgi will be very quiet I am starting at 1 of March so do you suggest me any place to stay temporary? Like a hotel/residence etc?

No area is "unsafe" if that is what you mean. Some areas are more expensive than others. But what you dont pay in increased tax rates, you pay in transport costs...

There are places I would not live because of the way the sun travels, and I am a sun worshiper.. but that is of course subjective.

Some areas require a car. Do you want to be able to get to work by bike?

Some areas are overflowing with children...
