Where to buy a bed

Hi

I need to buy a new bed but they all seem so expensive here in Zurich. Can anyone recommend a place to buy a good quality bed at a reasonable price? We are prepared to buy from Germany.

Thanks

Laura

Re: Where to buy a bed

We bought ours from Ikea at Spreitenbach and are very happy with it.

I happily sleep in an Ikea bed (with Ikea matresses) too.

Though you may need a degree in engineering to put them together .

Re: Where to buy a bed

Personally I do not like Ikea mattresses. And if you don't feel like spending 15k CHF on a bed from

http://www.hastens.com/en/

You can make your way across the border to France. In Mullhouse there is a number of furniture stores with affordable price (BUT,Atlas, etc)

Good luck

Re: Where to buy a bed

We bought an Ikea/bed & mattress and were extremely unhappy with its quality! We ordered our new one from the UK (I like the high up mattress) and it was still cheaper than buying one from Ikea in Switzerland, even with shipping!

I got mine at conforama, they deliver within a week and put it together for you. It was cheaper than Ikea too

From which company did you order the bed and mattress in the UK? Can you remember how much you paid roughly for shipping? I've been considering doing this too.

Thanks

I really recommend them, lovely bed and service!

The shipping I believe was around 300£ (don't remember exact amount!), but I essentially got the shipping price back when the UK VAT was refunded after delivery.

You pick your bed and they order it directly from the manufacturer. Cheapest Boxspring bed ever.

We did the same and NEVER EVER. 1000CHF for the matress and we wake up with pain in the A... Back. I still wonder if 1000CHF for a Maîtresse instead of a matress from IKEA wouldnt be the wiser choice back then

Re: Where to buy a bed

I'm having the same problem, stuck in the dilemma of buying a new mattress (super expensive) but would get delivery, or buying a used mattress but with no way of transporting back to my apartment..also quite put off the idea of IKEA beds from this thread..

Re: Where to buy a bed

Back home! The beds they sell here are quite small or ask a premium price when you want to have 2.20x1.80m bed. Ended up buying a second hand Auping bed.

Re: Where to buy a bed

We're spending so much time in our bed.. i think a good one is a must. If you care about your sleep quality and health.

We were struggling on finding new bed last year and there was a flyer got dropped into our mailbox, which was this place (see link below). They're in canton Zürich, we found the one in Wädenswil was the most convenient for us.

The price was ok, ofcoz not as low as ikea. They had a lot of choices and we got this really nice guy with a lot of patience explaining all the details to us (as he only spoke German and our German was very limited). He allowed us to first paid a half deposit on site and the rest in 6 months, got the delivery scheduled right when we bought the bed.
(i wanted to pay my digital piano in separate payments and the company told me 'sure, no problem. you will receive the piano after we have received the full amount.' ...... )

We got the mattress, the bed frames and some bed sheets. I think the delivery and assemble service was included, also service of taking away the old one. Anyway, worth checking it out. And Wädenswil is beautiful
