sleeping in dubendorf? or zurich?

Hi! I will be staying from June to September in Dübendorf, but I have bought my plain ticket and I'm arriving there the 31st of May. As I can't use my already reserved accomodation in Dübendorf until the 1st of June, I don't know if it will be best to stay that night at a hotel (or pension or whatever) in Zurich or in Dübendorf.

Any suggestions about where and where? I mean not only the city but also if you know any place that will fit me for that night?

Thanks a lot!

Re: sleeping in dUbendorf? or zurich?

Great another English Forum user coming to Dübi, welcome. What would you prefer staying in the city or Dübi. If it's the latter just Google or give me a hint as to your budget and I'll make some inquiries for you.

Re: sleeping in dUbendorf? or zurich?

Thanks a lot Oldhand! Well, the truth is that, as I'm looking for a place to sleep just the night of the 31st of May, and I've seen that Dübi is closer to the airport than Zürich I think that it will be better to spend that night there. Also because I will go with two suitcases and I don't want to wander a lot in that shape :-P
So if you know about a place, better if it's a cheap one, I don't mind spending one night in a not-luxurious place :-), I will be very grateful!

Totally off topic - but I love your dog!

Now, to justify making this post:

Re: sleeping in dubendorf? or zurich?

Hi Pulom, there is a single en suite room free in the Jägersberghof for Sfr109 the telephone no is 0448217666. Obviously it is not the Ritz but I have met people who have stayed there and they say it's clean, comfortable and friendly.

Actually considering you have two cases Zürich would be nearer by train. However there is a direct bus that takes 25 minutes from the airport and will drop you off in the center, not too far from the hotel.

Thanks a lot! I will check for that hotel right away (or as soon as I can, :-)), because I have even thought about taking a taxi from the airport if it's not toooooo expensive...

You have to reserve though, I just checked if there was a room and the price.
