Dog Friendly Places to Live

Hi,

My wife and I are planning to move to (somewhere in) Switzerland sometime soon but haven't found any places to live that accept pets. We have a medium sized, friendly dog who prefers gardens but can live with a balcony as long as he has a good view. How easy is it to find a place to live that accepts pets? Does it mean having to pay more for rent? Does it mean a higher bond? Does providing references make a difference?

Hello and welcome to EF. I am not really sure how you should go about finding a flat which is pet friendly, but there are a lot of dogs in flats in Basel and Baden (both places where I have lived). Where are you planning on moving to? I guess generally places more outside of town might be more accommodating to dogs.

And just what does your dog consider "a good view".. a fire hydrant..???

He loves to watch people. We used to live in an apartment above a courtyard and he loved to look at people below.

Ow i also need info on this matter. I check homegate each day and in some ads it says pets allowed but i wonder if a dog would also be allowed when it doesnt state "pets allowed". I need a flat in Luzern, dog friendly!

I am starting to freak out!
