Thanks for the link, weve already trawled both of the sites, but we dont know where is a good place and where isnt .. we do not know the area at all ... I had a quick look around Dubendorf last weekend, but im sure there are a lot of other places to look at. We both like the countryside, but want to be in easy reach of places to go out for the evenign , drinks , eating out etc etc. Were moving from Amsterdam , so we are used to the cafe culture. Also it has to be easy for transportation to Dubendorf ie no more than a 30 minute car or bus ride away |

You may want to consider Witikon (8053) or Fluntern/Zürichberg (8044). Two areas that are part of Zürich but still very close to Dübendorf (I assume you'll be working there?).

If you want to go out in the evenings for a few beers I assume you want to be near a train station, Gockhausen etc. are lovely places but the late night post pub homeward trip is pretty nasty.
I'd go for Dübi itself or Greifensee, Schwerzenbach or Uster....
Uster is bigger with more shops, Greifensee is nicer and right on the lake which is great and Schwezrenback is kinda inbetween (I wouldn't live there, its neither one nor the other)
Uster would be my choice if you don't want to live in Dübi...its got great train connections into town, its near the lake and its got a lot of woodland and walking country around it (as long as you live on the edge)
