Nightmare... we have been badly let down with regard to a possible empty van returning to UK for removal of our furniture. Last minute I know but does anyone know of a van returning in the next couple of weeks that we can share the cost. If that fails can anyone tell me the cheapest way to get furniture back from Switzerland to UK. Also, are there any documents or customs forms etc that need to be completed beforehand. Many thanks

Thanks for the above. Phoned and unfortunately the chap has already found someone to take the van back. Any other ideas would be much appreciated as this is urgent.

As for hints regarding other methods of doing this, I don't know myself but I do know that there are several threads on the forum in which it has been discussed, some crafty forum searching should turn up some info.

After much forum searching another option seems to be freighting the furniture back on pallets. Does anyone have any experience of this, a rough idea of cost and any recommendations as who to contact. Hope someone can help on this as we are in a bit of a pickle. Cost is the key. This is a credit crunch move.
