Deposit refund timeline

Hi

I vacanted my house before 2 months and the agency charged me 1000 chf but I am still waiting for the bills.

There was no written communication sent by the agency except a single call giving me details of charges which I accepted and asked them to send me the demage and replacement bills.

Basically they had charged 700 chf for small mark on window glass and I asked them to provide me real replacement bill which I am sure they have not replaced anything.

But now I am waiting for the bills and my deposit refund

Does anyone knows what is the correct timeline for deposit refund and is it not mandatory for agency to provide written discription of charges and acceptance by the tenant.

I have to submit these charges to the company and I may have to move out of switzerland soon so I am just worried about deposit refund and I will also not be able to claim from my company.

do we have some legal options to get this faster.

Thanks for your help

Search the forum for more details. But the agency usually has one year to give the money back.

Here's one thread to start with: http://www.englishforum.ch/housing-general/33523-late-deposit-return-legal-options.html

Re: Deposit refund timeline

Hi,

As mentioned in above original post, I am continously following up with estate agent and when I ask for bills of the charges they just postpond it everytime.

Could anyone provide some more details if we have some legal options here. I am now sure that the demage was not fixed and so the estate agent is not able to provide an actual invoice or bills. I even asked them to provide me written letter with charges details but they keep it extending to further dates.

It has been 3 months since I vacanted the house and since then I am waiting for the demage charges bills. even after repeatedly following up and confirming that I accept those charges and all I need is some written letter with charges details but they keep it extending to further date.

Could someone here guide me what is the right option in this situation so that I can get my remaining deposit amount back.

I have heard that SVIT is the monitoring body here. did anyone ever contacted them and are they helpful ?

Thanks
IG

Re: Deposit refund timeline

You can try with ASLOCA or other similar association, but bear in mind that 3 months is less than 1 year.
