International movers US to CH

Hi All, Any suggestions on good international movers, from North Carolina to Baden?

We moved to Baden already and live in a furnished apartment temporarily, but we'll travel back to the US in March to pack up and move. We own a small house (1200 sq feet) and will have to decide what to move and what to give away. Not sure if we'll spring for a whole container or a partial one.

Thanks!

Caroline

Hi Caroline,
I used a company called "Shipping International"

http://www.shippinginternational.com/ I spoke with a girl
named Marlyn Navarte or Medi Belorchi.

In 2006, I shipped a 20' container for $3400 from Houston, and everything was
perfect. Also, I won't lecture you about what to bring since
you have lived abroad before.

Thanks, I'll check into it. And even though we've lived abroad before, we've not actually MOVED a household before, so this is a new experience. Always before we took as much clothing, books, etc. as we could on the plane and lived in furnished accomodation.

I know it's a balancing act between what to bring over and what to buy here, but of course the more you look at the prices here, the more appealing it seems to ship things over.

Thanks!

If your employer here is paying for you to ship furniture over, in most cases this is a better deal than the money they will give you in lieu of shipping which will likely not replace what you have. But it very much depends on what furniture you have back in your home country and whether it will fit in your new place and assuming what kind of place you rent here, if they can get the items through the door, and up the stairs, or in the lift.
