This is my first time in this forum and I have been reading some of the posting here. I have a couple of queries/questions to ask about living in Geneva.
I am sure this is the right place for it and I look forward to everyone's help in this matter.

1. I have a family with 2 small kids and I am planning to relocate to Geneva. Is SFr 85000 per annum a decent salary to start with?
2. I have heard about renting problems in Geneva. Are there any suggestions regarding this?

I will most probably move this year around August 2009.

I will appreciate any response to these....

Geneva housing nowadays is really a pain, what you can do if feasible, is to come here first and ask your family to follow after a few months after sorting things out.

BTW, another thing which I wanted to know is about the salary and whether its a good offer.

Sidhu, Here in Geneva SFr 85000 per annum is a decent salary depending on your lifestyle. Which permit would you have? Is this figure tax deducted? A family of 4 would probably require a minimum of 4 piece apartment (2 bedroom) which i pressume costs around 2000 to 3000 chf. + insurance, on top of this is your usual utility expenses. Thanks for your response. Well, I would be on a G-4 visa, as I will be working for UN. As per the tax, I dont think I need to pay any tax on this amount.
About the rent, you are right. I was going through other post in this forum and saw that it's quite steep in Geneva
I am yet to finalize on the offer, and once I do it, I will surely PM you for any further queries.
