The cleaners are in my place today and tomorrow. It's a three bedroom two storey house with full cellar, two bathrooms and blinds on all the windows. The cleaning quote is 2,600 and comes with the guarantee
Hi there!

The price they offer to you sounds really extremly high. We haven paid for our earlier apartment, 80sq. only 800CHF with garantee. sometimes you can discuss or you choose some else. There are many Cleaners and Cleaning Companies.
But dont worry, you know next time better.

hug..

Re: Cleaning Quote- reasonable?

Our neighbours paid 800.- to get their place cleaned (4.5 pce) and the regis came in, had a perfunctory look round and said it was fine.
Another neighbour did her own and it was fine too. Seems you have bunch of over-zealous jobsworths up your way

Re: Cleaning Quote- reasonable?

Just thought I'd add my experience of cleaning quotes to this thread...

We have 135m-sq 5.5 room apartment with cellar and 8m of floor to ceiling windows, 2 balconies and other big windows, laminate/tile floors throughout - no parquet or carpets. Circa 20min (train/car) outside of Zurich. I got 4 quotes all including a guarantee.

these ranged from 1350chf to 1850chf.
1 company didn't visit to quote just asked for details - their quote was 1550chf.
The company that quoted 1850 specified certain things (such as polishing - not just mopping - the laminate) would not be done i that quote & gave a separate price foe if these things were done. If all these things were requested it could have topped out 2300chf +

Needless to say as all include guarantee we went with the cheapest.

Re: Cleaning Quote- reasonable?

Hope your move and check out went well. Were the cleaning company ok? Can you give their details with a truthful report/recommendation? Thanks

We pay our (Czech) cleaning lady CHF 30.- per hour, plus VAT (she has a company which issues invoices, nothing underhand going on here - no sirree!).

She charged about CHF 1'200 when clearing out my last apartment, so you are probably a little high, but not off the Richter Scale.
40 hours? i know you all get paid bazillions, but when did 1200-1600 ever become a reasonable price for cleaning a flat???

Re: Cleaning Quote- reasonable?

back on topic
the minute details expected for final cleaning (not the regular weekly cleaning ) kind of explains the price but only if it is a guaranteed cleaning else you have been taken to the cleaners

Re: Cleaning Quote- reasonable?

we got a better deal by 1) asking for a cheaper rate! 2)having the final clean carried out by the same company that did the removals. 3) getting the company to come and see our place.

i think it is worth remembering to ask for a viewing fom the cleaning company. Companies usually want to quote on sq m, but this may not to be to your advantage. For example a 2 year old 120m appt is likely to be an easier clean than an 8 yearold 2 level appartment or house. New builds tend to have very "square" rooms with no alcoves, recesses etc. Also, kitchens and bathrooms are of a high spec and much easier to clean.

i agree the guarantee is essential, any quibbles from the landlord and the cleaning co can touch up clean at the checkout or later if a bigger job.
