Re: Non EU B Permit Buying a House?

B permit (non EU) holders can in general buy a house or apartment if they intend to use it as their residence ie they do not intend to rent it out.
This can vary from Gemeinde and Kanton, some will allow the purchase of an investment on a non-EU B permit.
Check with the Gemeinde in which you're looking to purchase.

Yes, you are allowed, but if you have to leave Switzerland,
you cannot rent it out unless you have a C Permit.

Re: Non EU B Permit Buying a House?

Hi

Yes, I want to buy it for my own use.
I work in a bank and I noticed I can get a pretty good employee deal. So i just want to buy a flat and stop paying overpriced rent fees. I am not gonna rent it out.

I am looking for buying an apartment in Schwyz.
Before I start digging into tons of German info on their gemainde website, i'd appreciate if you can tell me .. ofcourse if you already know it.

I'd still check out what the competition are offering. A few bank employees I know at different banks got a better deal elsewhere.

Schwyz is definitely one of those Cantons that you can
buy and live there yourself but not rent it out.

I checked into this myself.

Re: Non EU B Permit Buying a House?

And just to underscore the obvious, in SZ a non-EU B permit holder generally must use the property not only for himself exclusively, but also must use it as his Wohnsitz (tax domicile).

(FYI, There are some properties, such as those held in bauerliche Bodenrecht, where you might be excluded. These require a landwirstschaft Bewilligung - and a lot of Vitamin B. )

Re: Non EU B Permit Buying a House?

I have got a similar question, Barish please excuse me for jump in.

What about a NON EU student permit, though I have a regular income.

What about in Canton Zurich? does it also depends on which gemainde I want to purchase the properties in?

thanks a lot.

And can you if you have a B permit? and with EU passport?
We are also fed up with the high rent (ever increasing rent, may I add, despite the myth of stable rent in Switzerland, with three increases in two years!!!!), but had thought that we couldn't buy.

This answers my own question:

"A CE permit is a B permit for people with a EU passport. It is valid for an initial period of 5 years and gives you many rights not enjoyed by B permits, such as being able to bring your spouse, financially dependent descendants and ascendants (children, parents, grand-parents, nephews, nieces, great-grand-children, etc...), buying Swiss real estate without restrictions, moving within Switzerland without restrictions, becoming self-employed, etc..."
http://www.live-in-switzerland.com/e/faq/ce-permit.html

Does anybody know when these CE permits started being given out (I know I am disgressing and this probably will be relocated elsewhere)
