I moved to Zurich recently and found finding an appartment a bit of a nightmare task. I ended up taking a short term rental for a Vision AG appartment in Oerlikon. This helped buy some time until I could decide on the best location to live for me. Vision allow you to rent on a daily basis, which is unusual, and their rentals are reasonable.
