Housing near Inter community school? HELP!!

Hello there..we are hoping to put our child in ICS and are wondering what are the options for housing within maximum 15 min of the school. I believe Zumikon itself, Zollikon and Kusnacht are options...are there any other suburbs I should be looking at? Are the asking rents open to negotiation? Does anyone live in these areas with kids going to ICS? How long does it take (in good weather and in snow) to get there...I plan to drop and pick instead of bus. Other than that, what other info should I know. Thanks...any info will be appreciated.

Re: Housing near Inter community school? HELP!!

Hi,

Having been a student at ICS, I believe I may be the right person to give you some advice I guess. Indeed Zumikon, Zollikon and Küsnacht are options which are near to school and also great to live. I live in Oetwil am See which is also pretty close to Zumikon. I enjoy living here as you're quite in the countryside but are in Zurich fairly quickly (takes about half an hour by car - which is good to have by the way if you live in Oetwil am See). You will find out that many ICS families live around the general area not too far away from school. As to your question about rents it depends. As a general rule rents in Switzerland are not open to negotiation - but then again it does depend on what you're looking at.

Hope this helps a bit and perhaps I'll hear from you.

Daniel
