| So called "foreigners" running around wimpering and begging for an apartment while dumping huge quantities of cash on a country which without those "foreigners" would quickly sink back to it's roots of starvation selling it's best and brightest as mercenaries is why they get a hard time here. As has been discussed before it's the Swiss who need us, not the other way around and I feel a landlord asking for a 200chf service of a washing machine is a little unreasonable.
Having said that I apologise for this off topic rant. | |

I am not Swiss, I am a foreigner, and this is possibly one of the most offensive comments I have read on EF. If you don't like the country then leave - obviously you have chosen to be here but you should not be insulting the country or it's people. Sure, Switzerland's economy is driven by the financial institutions, which have a strong dependence on a foreign workforce. But there are not many countries out there that don't import labour. The Swiss dont "need" us foreigners, and they certainly don't need (or want) the arrogant ones. And as for the cleaning of the washing machine - most countries will recognise the legality of a written contract, if you sign it, you pay it. Dont bitch and moan later that it's "unreasonable", the tenant didn't have to sign the contract in the first place.
