Moving Out - Getting my Landlord to speak to my Insurance Agent

Hi There,

I am leaving my current apartment at the end of the month and have damaged the parquet floor moving some furniture. Having read other posts on this website and checking my insurance cover I am under the impression that if the Landlord wants the floor repaired and/or he is unhappy with other aspects of the apartment I might also be able to claim these on my insurance as long as the damage was not caused maliciously.

My question is how do I go about this?

Do I give the landlord my insurance details and tell him to speak with them?

Do I let the landlord bill me and then take the bill to the insurance company?

or is there a more formal way of doing things?

you get the bill and present it to the insurance company. Make sure he knows you're doing that - in case of delays. But when I did it, they were quite quick.
