Furniture storage in Basel area

Hello everyone,
We recently moved to Basel, and when our container arrived and a moving company started unloading our stuff, we were told our TV cabinet is too big to fit in our apartment, and we can apparently not use an outside elevator to bring it in.

We are currently looking for a company that can store it in the Basel area. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Furniture storage in Basel area

The furniture is an old Indian piece and can not be dismantled...
So our only option is storage... which is very annoying because no one told us about this potential problem while packing it ...

You normally have a small room in the basement of your building as well where you can store stuff. Here is a link to a storage company in Basel.

why dont you sell it to some one and then after you have a bigger apartment then buy it back, make a special contract.

Re: Furniture storage in Basel area

Seems a pity to hide under wraps what seems like a nice cabinet- could you not "lend" it to someone who has their own house.
Number one it would be free.
Number two - the people who look after it will get the benefit of looking a non IKEA table.
Perhaps a small insurance policy could cover any accidental damage.
Just out of interest, how long were you thinking of storing it for?
PS I have a house with not a lot of furniture :-)

Re: Furniture storage in Basel area

just dont get your people, how long you will stay here? if not, ship it back, when you gonna have a new bigger apartment, if long, ship back, or sell it, if it is something that you really want to keep, and you want to stay here permanetly, then why dont you just simply get yourself a roofed garage with 100chf per month? why so complicated?

Re: Furniture storage in Basel area

Angelina Zhang I read your mail, but there are no longer garages around, they are generally car space in a huge cellar parking.
I am looking for a decent garage, but on all the sites, there is nothing which is large enough for a normal home. Have you any contacts for a garage in Basel? Greetings
