Opinions of Bremgarten in Aargau

I was wondering if anyone lived in or around Bremgarten and had any positive or negative views of the town. We are considering to buy a house there.
Thanks.

Beautiful town, very centrally located and picturesque. I've never lived there, but run in their annual race at the end of February. I've often visited and thought it would make a good home.

The Reuss valley is often foggy, but the hill to the east of bremgarten has great views south toward the mountains. i believe lieily and oberdorf are two small towns there.

Re: Opinions of Bremgarten in Aargau

I am a few minutes walk away from Bremgarten Post at Zufikon, have spent 10 days here looking after a member's pet.

I have seen Bremgarten day through night - peaceful, friendly people, decent transport connections as well as stores.

The smaller gemeindes like Zufikon ( adjacent to Lieli I think ) are much better IMO - farm like landscape yet minutes away from Bremgarten.

Nice houses here - in fact I told the pet's owner that the home is like a holiday cottage.

We looked in that area but for us the issue was the commute to work in Baden which is less than ideal.

Yes, its looking to be the major downside of Bremgarten, especially with my pathological hatred of buses...

Re: Opinions of Bremgarten in Aargau

I lived in Zufikon for 3 years, across the street from Bremgarten, and I wouldn't buy a house there. The fog really bothered me. There's at least for twice as much as in Zurich, if not more, from October - March.

If you depend on public transportation, the Bremgarten-Dietikonbahn is really slow and you're basically always faster with the car.

Other than that, Bremgarten has most things you need at a close distance and the area along the Reuss is nice for walking, jogging, biking, inline skating. The city center is really pittoresque and nice to stroll through (but it won't take you much more than 10 minutes)

Don't know if it has changed, but the tax rate in Bremgarten used to be on the high side.

Re: Opinions of Bremgarten in Aargau

Beautiful place. S17 to Dietikon about 22mins. Then either S3 or S12 to Zurich 15mins, not sure whether S3 goes to Baden. Once an hour from Dietikon a train goes to the Airport. Really Old town. If however you want lots of nightlife Bremgarten is not for you.
