house hunting service?

Hello,

I am a 28yo spanish guy moving to Zurich. I am getting an option from my company to use a househunting service or in the other case 4000 CHF cash.
What is the added value from the househunting service? What do they provide?
are they working with their own pool of apartments or also with the ones I can see in websites like homegate.ch ?

Regards,
J.

my suggestion would be to go for the assistance if you do not know German and you are not familiar with the Swiss system and rules re renting BUT check homegate and other sites yourself and make sure you send the suggestions to your agent. Do not expect miracles from the assistance service. Not all agents are good, not all will understand what you want or don't want to understand and prefer to go their way.

Re: house hunting service?

It really depends if you speak good German or not. Their services are invaluable (if they are good of course) when it comes to negotiating, charming the agency/landlord, they have other sources for flats. As you might have read here, it is quite difficult to actually get a flat even if you saw it first, earning enough, etc.
