List of all treatments and meds covered under basic insurance
Hi all
I was explaining the health insurance to a newbie this afternoon, and she asked if I knew exactly what treatments were covered by the basic insurance. (I assume she has a particular issue she wants to make sure is covered, but didn't like to be too nosy as we'd just met.)
I know I've seen a link to a huge list somewhere (I'm assuming here), breaking it down into every possible medical action, number of points, pricing, etc, but just can't seem to find it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please? Thanks a lot.

Edit: Think I've just found it - is it TARMED? Is everything on that list included in basic insurance?

Re: List of all treatments and meds covered under basic insurance
Thanks, BB - my friend's French is virtually non-existant as she's new, so it's probably just as easy to look things up in German! I've found this one, too, which is a TARMED database. Would that be the sort of thing, do you think?
Re: List of all treatments and meds covered under basic insurance
Tarmed is a system used to calculate the cost of every medical procedure so it is not, as such, a list of basic insurance benefits which is what you're looking for.
Re: List of all treatments and meds covered under basic insurance
I sent a mail to Comparis pointing out that the page which should have details of the basic cover is blank. I’ve just received a reply saying that it will be updated as soon as possible.
As you can see, it's pretty complicated. However, the law states that you have to informed that a particular medicine or procedure is not reimbursed by your health insurance.
In fact, you will get a better feel for things if you realise that in Switzerland there is no health insurance, but sickness insurance.
