Hi everyone! I ve researched both the forum posts and Swiss web thoroughly for this information and couldnt find much. Maybe I didn't search enough, but I thought it was enough to turn to the wise englishforum community for some help :-)

So my questions are regarding medical check-ups in Switzerland and by the term I mean a periodic examination i.e. annual, bi-annual etc, without any prescription from a doctor, that includes basic tests like blood-test, urine test, and maybe something like an ultrasound.

- Anybody knows where one could get such a check-up i.e. are there specialized clinics or medical laboratories that offer them?

- Any idea how much such an examination would cost?

- Do you know any Krankenkasse that offers an extra insurance (Zusatzversicherung) covering all or part of these costs?

Hubby had to have a medical as part of joining his company's pension scheme. Don't think it included an ultrasound, but certainly fluid testing. Our local doctor did it; I think it took about 45 mins and cost around 100 CHFs with another... erm... 80-90 CHFs or so for lab fees.

It was claimable via the normal basic insurance, but we didn't bother as we're always thousands of CHFs off the franchise limit anyway.
