I have not registered my car in Ch yet but my Irish insurance company will only cover me temporarily. Has anyone got cover from a Swiss insurer before registration or been able to get continuation of cover for more than 60 days from an Irish/UK insurer? Or will I have to get the car registered sooner than I planned in order to get Swiss cover?

Cant remember the name of the UK insurer I used but a good search on the EF will give you what you need

Hi again, following a EF search I rang Zurich and Zurich connect but neither will now insure a car with foreign plates, it must be registered in CH apparently. Perhaps there has been a change in practice recently? Has anyone succeeded in securing CH insurance on foreign plates in the last 12-18 months please and if so, with which insurance company? You need to call Stuart Collins Insurance. They will cover you for a year. Do you still have a UK address available?
