Hello,
I might be buying a used car from a dealer during weekend. How does it work with insurance? I would like it to be insured against crash or theft from day 1... is it possible? Do dealers offer such services?
And how does the whole procedure look like? I come with passport, driving license (still not a swiss one) and credit card, and go out in selected car? I heard that for new cars you wait for 7 days (at least my friend now does), but i don't know if it is same with used ones.

You cannot drive a car in Switzerland without insurance because you can't obtain licence/number plates without insurance.

As Swiss car insurance is still not particularly competitive, you might ask the dealer to handle it all for you - they should have a tame insurance agent...
