Travel Insurance for Daughter

My 10yr old daughter is travelling out to visit me soon and I was wondering about travel/health insurance. I've tried the online ones but they fail and say main traveller must be 18 or over.

I'm resident here and have health cover as per norm but unsure as to what i would need to get her.

Any advise appreciated

Mike

Re: Travel Insurance for Daughter

Also not sure if a European Health Insurance Card (which used to be called the E111) is adequate?

Thanks

Re: Travel Insurance for Daughter

You buy travel/health insurance in the country you're travelling from, not to. You can't put someone on a Swiss insurance policy (as it has minimum cover guaranteed such as pre-existing conditions) unless they are registered as living here.

So you'll need to find travel insurance for someone under 18.

As for health insurance, the EHIC (replaced the E111) is valid in Switzerland. I think for up to 3 months.

Re: Travel Insurance for Daughter

Where is she coming from ? If it's the UK Google "travel insurance for children site:.uk" and this will produce several suppliers.
