I have searched on the forum and cannot find the information I am looking for. It may be here, but I could not find it.

My question is this: Does anyone have any guidelines about the cost of basic medical tests in Switzerland? Does it vary greatly from area to area, from doctor to doctor?

I have basic medical insurance with the maximum excess, because I was in good health and felt I was unlikely to need medical treatment. However, I did have to visit the doctor recently and he did some blood tests and a couple of chest xrays. I am just interested to know how much these are likely to cost me.

I am based in Zurich 8045.

The health system operates on a system called Tarmed and you can download a Tarmed Browser. Each procedure is given a value in points and the cost of each point varies according to the canton.

You can download the Tarmed Browser here. It’s also availablenin French and German if you changes the language setting.

For Zurich the value of each point is Doctor .90c, Hospital 92c, and private Hospital .91c.
