I am coming to live in Switzerland with my wife and 4 children (ages range from 11 - 2). I was quoted a monthly premium of Chf 1500 from a swiss company and £420 from a UK company giving worldwide cover (except USA which i asked to be removed). Obviously the AXA Expat policy looks very attractive but do the Swiss authorities / health care providers recognize these policies ?

Don't be too discouraged, it is possible to get some foreign insurances approved. The question is whether it's worth your time, of course.

Write to your local office and ask them what the procedure is.

With 6 of you the cover is always going to be high here, especially if you want any extras worth their salt.

Who was the company quoting 1500?
