My offer letter says nothing about Health Insurance. Only mention under "Illness" is that they will pay me for three months max.

Is this normal? Are you expected to buy individual Health policies? Is there no such thing as long-term disability in CH?

Normally it's a number of months at 100% then decreasing.

Yes. You may have access to negotiated group rates. Long term disability is covered by invalidity insurance.
