I was recently made redundant by my UK employer after working for 18 months in Switzerland (CH) and I have applied for Chomage. During my employment in CH I paid local income taxes however paid UK national insurance. I have requested a summary of my NIC payments from HMRC Tax and Customs to qualify under the reciprocal agreement. Prior to living here, I contributed for 14 years to UK N.I.C.

Has anyone succeeded obtaining chomage with similar application or circumstances? I have been waiting for 13 weeks from HMRC for an update and have written additional letters and made calls with no status.

Good luck with HMRC, I am still waiting after 9 months for replies concerning child benefit, having escalated , complained and phoned concerning a lack of replies.

They are massively understaffed , and are dealing with huge backlogs going back 4 years in some cases. It will get worse with the next round of public sector cuts.
