I don't read the forum as often or as detailed as some. Had no idea there was a dedicated EF account for spam.

On the plus side for the OP, my surprise is keeping his ad on the homepage a while longer.

You could always ignore that poster. If "he" wasn't a mod then you wouldn't need to install greasemonkey and something like the Super Ignore script.

I have my home/contents insurance with Zurich and found them very helpful and efficient in English....

i originally came across this insurance service from searching EF for english speaking insurance companies. We now have our house insurance and 2 car insurance policies with them. We have found both David and Daniel to be extremely helpful, knowledgeable and they have been able to beat any quotes that we have had from other companies and all the documentation is in English.

we would highly recommend them to other EF members........

I contacted David re our health/house/car/pl insurances and he explained more than the Die Mobilar and CSS folks did. After emails and numerous call, he advised to stay with what we have and explained why, so he did a bunch of work for no reward on this occasion, but displyed very high customer service and awareness. He was cheery, polite, knowledgable, and helpful, so when things change I now know who I'll be callin' for insurance advice and would not hesitste to recommend to EFer's... cheers David

I am currently comparing insurance prices before choosing one for contents and liability insurance. So far, I am getting excellent, responsive service from Zurich insurance.

A couple of points though - please be aware as stated in other threads that policies may not be for a year. The policy I have been sent is for five years. I'm awaiting an answer regarding whether I can do it yearly. The cost is also very high compared to the providers that came up on comparis.ch. In fact, it's nearly double the cost.

However, as someone who will pay more (within reason) for good service, particularly here when it's in English, I'm still deciding...

I did and I met him as well. Very nice chap and explain policy very well. Especially good when you are new to CH and have no clue what is going on but need to have insurance.

Are these quotes from us? Standard swiss policies are 5 years but we can apply different terms and cover to Zurich main; our products can differ and are bespoke to the client.

As an aside I would advise a little caution comparing within comparis. It is a great tool but you need to be sure the cover is like for like, it is often hidden what insurance you are actually getting there and how the companies within differ to each other; it is only under investigation the whole picture becomes apparent. We are always interested to compare competitor's products both randomly and with clients to see how we can improve however there are some companies that as a national policy we do not compete with.

Yes, the quotes are from you. =) At my request, your colleague has added in a clause to allow me to give notice each year (three months). I also removed the part of the premium that covers losses outside of the home, which wasn't needed, so I'm happier with it. You're still priced quite a bit higher than several other companies. But that being said, I'm signing and sending the policy back as I feel good about the communication and also appreciate that it has been in English.

I'm all for working on my German in hopes of fitting in better here. Yet, for things as critically important as healthcare and home protection, there is no room for uncertainty. Again, my thanks. =)

Add one more to the 'satisfied customers' column. All at a most reasonable price (I had a couple of benchmarks) and super efficient service too.

David helped me navigate the complexities of the Swiss vehrkehrsamt & zoll as I have been reimporting a car to Switzerland (or the seven circles of hell as it is otherwise known). The lady at the vehrkehrsamt told me to get the insurance in by this afternoon and by gosh we did it. Number plates in hand. As is glass of wine to celebrate this momentous point in life...

Me and the missus also rate saint7UK (David). We're just about to jump on a plane to Zurich, bound for Zug and David was able to guide us through the red tape.... (and they were cheaper than other quotes).

Me and the missus are both lawyers and so were ready for a bit of leg work on this...however, they managed to sort everything and advise accordingly in plain language.
