Swiss health insurance advice and policies offered

I'm in the health care insurance business, working for a fiduciaire, canton VD.

I represent an insurance company offering probably one of the best price-quality ratio in the Swiss health insurance market.

I would be delighted to give free advice on the subject and provide quotations for convenient health insurance policies tailored to personal needs.

If you are in full employment you don't need extra accident insurance.

If you are in full employment (Employed by one employer more than 8 hours per week) you don't need extra accident insurance.

The employer has an obligation yo ensure you are covered for accidents and pension. You need to find your own health insurance provider.

Re: Swiss health insurance advice and policies offered

Hi
I am wondering if I can somehow apply for ersatzversicherung after having lived here for 11 years. When I came to Switzerland, me and m husband were very honest about declaring that I did have some health issues at the time, not knowing what it would entail.
Now the problem is most insurances refuse to give me extra insurance, and now that I am pregnant with twins, and almost always on bed rest due to some risks, we have been wondering how we could use spitex or any such help without getting extra insurance. Is there any way we could be able to get some extra cover for spitex kind of help....we have a 5 year old boy and now expecting twins in July...but this pregnancy is no bed of roses till now.

Thanks for any replies.

Maybe it is Assura. Try to find out the price on its website.

Go to comparis.ch and take a look....
if you want cheap, then select a high franchise and an HMO or GP model. Your monthly charges will be relatively low. It works if you're relatively healthy and don't use the doctor. Just be aware that if you have to go to the doctor, you'll pay the first XXX your self (where XXX is your franchise, say CHF 2500). Also with an HMO model, you're restricted to a network of providers for care and with the GP, you go through your GP for referrals - works for a lot of people though.

Keep in mind that you get what you pay for, so cheap may be just that. As others have said, you can keep premiums low by choosing a high franchise (deductible). If you don't speak German/French/Italian, you'll want to choose a company that can deliver documentation in English (such as SWICA) - this may cost a bit more, but you'll be thankful if you ever need to actually use that insurance.

Also check other insurance comparing websites. Comparis is pretty good but does not cover everything as they also get paid by the insurances.
By law, the basic insurance offers THE SAME for every insurance. So if you want to go for the cheapest, use the highest franchise and HMO or Telmed Model (you have to call a number before you can go to the doctor).

For the basic (and compulsory) insurance the only difference is the administrative service the insurance offers.

Prices vary a lot between insurance and also between region and from year to year. Do not be afraid to change your basic insurance every year as some insurances lower their prices for one year to attract customers and rise it again afterwards. Happened to me with the EGK.

However with additional insurance packets you cannot do that as they are not obliged to accept you as a customer
If you live in Bern, you might pay a lot more than someone living in St.Gallen.

Re: Swiss health insurance advice and policies offered

Hi there,

After having spent some time on comparis and other website to try to understand the whole system incl. the three Säulen, I got the recommendation to get free consultation by companies such as www.awd.ch.
These people's job is actually choosing insurances for other people and they even seem to like that (which is not at all the case for me). After having compared with other people they really helped me save money. They earn their money from the commission by the insurances which is a fair deal because for me as the end user I don't pay for the consulting neither the insurance costs are higher.
If you need a direct contact let me know.
