This is true of pharmacies.
Again, just to clarify how Assura and Supra work....
They use the "3rd party guarantee system" with regards to pharmacy bills for prescription medication.
What this means is, that you have to pay for your medication upfront, keep the receipt and then send the receipts along with any other medical bills you might have (e.g. doctors) to them
once you've reached your deductible.
Fyi, they are not the only companies that work in this way but they are the ones that have been doing this for a long time.
By using this system, they keep their administrative costs down and this is reflected in the premiums for the basic insurance which (especially in VD) remain low year after year.
For adults, for 2012, Assura have the lowest premiums without any alternative method of insurance in our canton and Supra have the lowest premiums for the GP method.
