Personal liability insurance in English?

Hello,

Just having bought a bike, i was told by a colleague that I need to get some liability insurance now that the bike sticker is invalid for 2012.

Does anyone know of an private liability insurance company that has plans in English?

Thanks

There's no legal obligation to take out liability insurance for your bike, but check your existing liability insurance and see if doesn't cover you already.

Most "home owners/apt. renters" policies have the third party liability included in them. Do you rent an apt under your name? If so, most agencies demand that you have a home owners policy that covers you against damage to the apt. You probably did this when you rented the apt. Check this first.

If you are planning to ride a bike (or even live in CH for that matter), make sure you have 3rd party insurance. Most policies are generally 2,3 or 5 million CHF.

In that case, you are better off to ask for a renter's insurance and that will have the 3rd party liability in it.

I got confused by this. Does it mean that some 3rd party liability insurances DO NOT cover damages made to a flat you are living in on a rental contract?

I am thinking of subscribing to AXA 3rd party liability insurance.
Two people covered up to 10M, 200CHF franchise.
It's 100CHF or 130CHF if you add coverage for 3rd party vehicles.
Any opinions?
