Hello guys,

I submitted my Swiss student visa application two weeks ago and the Swiss Embassy came back to me and told me that I should provide the Migration Office in Bern with a proposal for a Medical Insurance in Switzerland. What can I do at this point. Do I have to contact one of the Swiss insurance companies in Switzerland and pay and register for the medical insurance or should I send a letter to show them my plans that I will set up an account with an insurance company upon my arrival. Anybody has had this sort of experience.

As a student you should be able to get a cheap policy for around 70-80CHF per month. Unfortunately I can't recommend any particular insurers but flyers can be found around the uni in Bern.

Did you come up with a solution? I'm in the process of preparing an student visa application to switzerland (for Geneva). You raise a good question, was hoping someone knows the answer to it
