Hi,
I can't find an answer to this on the forums, so hope it's not been asked before...
I leave Switzerland at end of month, return to UK... am about to send letter to health insurance company + letter from Gemeinde confirming I am
deregistered from 29th Feb. I thought I would therefore not have to pay
any more premiums ( I am paid up to end of Feb. ) ... I have been told by someone at work that I may have to pay for the whole year since policies
are for a full year, apparently.
This sounds odd to me, anyone know if this is correct ? In England I
have usually paid policies upfront for a year, since it is usually cheaper
that way - any cancellation would just result in a refund minus a penalty/admin charge. - but here since I never really settled I just pay it at the post-office each month.
I must admit that if they try to sting me for a year then I'll just ignore any post from them....
Thanks
