Re: Does anyone have health ins with Avanex?

sorry question: why do you call the insurance once you are sick? I rather would call a doctor... In case you signed up for the "premed" solution (first calling the hotline before consulting a doctor) please notice the following: In case of an emergency you do not have to call them,... just visit a doctor or an hospital....

Re: Does anyone have health ins with Avanex?

We are registered with Avanex and opted for some premium services. I'm curious to know how much people pay in average for Health Insurance if you don't mind sharing. For use seems to be around $900/month for 2 healthy adults and 2 kids. With a $1,000 deductible for each adult. Any frame of reference will be helpful. Thanks!

In Neuchâtel, registered with Avanex with a 2,500 CHF deductible, including semi-private option (BASIS, COMPLETA and HOSPITAL PLUS), I pay just short of 400 CHF a month. No increase for 2012.

One tip for Avanex, if they don't answer the phone, call the Helsana number, they will answer right away, it's the same call center.

Re: Does anyone have health ins with Avanex?

I have Avanex insurance and have been nothing but impressed with their service... I have claimed from them rather too much for my liking over the past 2-3 years and they have always settled my claims quickly and without question..

1st: --> Avanex is OK. As a member of Helsana they'll provide a good service for a very low price!
2nd: --> Avanex is a young "new brand of helsana" and founded to reach young and healthy clients!
3rd: --> Avanex is a "Krankenkasse" with the cheapest primes and very good coverage in most of the cantons in Switzerland.
4th: --> AVANEX IS THE RIGHT THING FOR A SPECIAL TARGET GROUP. IF YOU ARE YOUNG GO FOR IT. BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT YOUR RISKS (WHILE GETTING OLDER, SICK, ...) ARE PUSHING YOU OUT OF THIS TARGET GROUP.
5th: --> If you are between 18 -35 and healthy,... don't mind - just jump from year to year to the best and cheapest "Krankenkasse". But once you've got health problems or if you reach a age >35, do your steps thoughtful...
6th: --> Since 1996 (after the Swiss voted for the KVG) the "Krankenkassen" are profit orientated companies, they learned very fast and at this time the know very well about how to earn money (...- means which risks are OK, which ones not!!!)
I am afraid that is not correct. Krankenkassen are forbidden by law to make a profit with basic insurances. They must do this with supplementary plans.
