Did you actually put in your details and see what comes up? I entered a 20 year old living in Aarau with a CHF600 excess for standard insurance including accident cover and got these - all of which are much cheaper than the 86 per month that you say you're currently paying.

https://en.comparis.ch/krankenkassen...kingviewtype=1

Obviously it depends on what sort of cover you want, but you should be able to match/better your current price I would think.
Actually you entered a 10 year old. A 20 year old with a 2500 excess would be much more than the 86 chf he pays now.

What exactly do you want from the people on this forum?

I've read the thread and it has been very clearly explained to you that you need health insurance in Switzerland, and that your options are to continue live in Aaragau and pay more for health insurance, or to investigate moving to Zurich and seeing if you can still use student health insurance there.

Yes, it's going to cost you more money. But the users of the English Forum cannot help you with that. This may surprise you, but none of the people who have replied have the authority to change the regulations in canton Aaragu or to lower health insurance premiums. All they can do is point you in the right direction and give you good advice.

So please stop with the repetitive "it's Aaragau's fault..." thing. If you want to blame them, blame away, but you have to understand that they have made that decision and as a resident of that canton you have to live with the consequences. Which means you are going to have to spend more money on health insurance. Now you can either take a look at some of the links people have posted for you... or you can go and have a massive sulk. In which case, may I direct you to the appropriate area of the forum:

Re: Aargau, what a mess with student insurance

Guys another question came to my mind
the franchise, I mean the extent of the fixed sum that I participate like 300Fr, is annually reset?! I see some companies rest it every year!
In other words, if your franchise is 300.0 and you only use upto 280 this year, the next year you should pay your health care again upto 300 (and not 20). This sounds a bit crazy!

Yes, it is the annual co-payment, i.e., your cost participation. You can have it as high as CHF 2500 ... depends on how much you think you will need the doctor. If not much, you save on the premium but not to the same extent as the increased cost participation.
Such co-payment is with most kinds of insurance and for property insurances is for each individual claim. For health insurance it's per year (calendar year). On top, you still need to pay 10% of the costs up to some total amount (it is still CHF 700?)

It is clear from your posts that you are now employed, since March or Feb. 2013 with ABB- so why on earth would you still have student insurance
Are you a student again?

Re: Aargau, what a mess with student insurance

When choosing a franchise, don't automatically go with the lowest (300). Consider how much you will visit the doctor and how much medication you need. Since you're young, you can probably get away with a 2500 deductible and save a fair amount on the premiums that way.
