Normal personal insurance?

Hello everybody.
I just got my permit (yay!) and now i need to pick an insurance. I have really no idea what the lowest prices are in CH and i tried to search - but it is a jungle out there. The prices are kinda high, but i guess it is normal with the private market - or is it me who don't find all the goodies?

So i wanted to ask the forum is for some recommendations, before i do something overrushed. I just need a insurance for health and for accident i guess.

Thanks in advance guys and nice weekend to you all!

First, you need to check if your employer, if you have one already, has accident insurance which covers you. Many employers do this and it can save you a few francs every month on your premiums. If you don't have an employer then add the accident to your health insurance cover.

Ah, okay cool. I'm definitely doing that! Merci beaucoup madame
..I think I've been reading to much on the insurances and 'over did' it, they describe so much and so complicated sometimes. You scratch it up pretty simple, really nice - and thanks for that again.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Line

And thanks for the link, it is way better than the one i found!
Superb, guys. It is so sweet of you, now a young woman can rest a little easier by heart this weekend

Re: Normal personal insurance?

It's up to you how fancy you get with your insurance. As you're only here for around a year at the moment, I'd stick with the standard model, but if you want more info on the others look here:

https://en.comparis.ch/krankenkassen...r/input/modell

Yes you may save on your premiums, but do you really want to be restricted in your doctor choice, etc?

Anyway, play with the figures for the various options over the weekend and then plan accordingly.

Re: Normal personal insurance?

You may also want to look at personal liability insurance (damage caused by you, pets, children, if you drive cars of others for example you can add an insurance for that), household insurance (fire, theft, also outside or in the car) and legal protection. Many options yes, but worth looking into with calm, just get health insurance right away, accident should be with the employer.

No, ALL employers by law provide accident insurance to their employees. The only differences are whether you get coverage for work vs non-work accidents, but that's linked to your working hours, nothing else.

Comparis is a commercial site and NOT independent. The only independent site is
www.priminfo.ch.

unfortunatly not in English as yet.

Unfortunately, it is not up to you how fancy you get with your insurance, if you have pre-existing conditions. Basic insurance has to accept you with pre-exisiting condtions- but most insurances will exclude those, or even turn you down flatly, for the more 'fancy' supplementary bits, like private, choice of consultant or hospital. The only people I know who have been accpeted for such were very very lucky that it was due to them being part of massive contracts via the large businesses they work for.
