need to see doctor, but I've got only provisional health insurance

Hi all,
I am new to the country and I've arranged my health insurance only a week ago - so I have no insurance number, just a copy of my contract.

My issue is that I have problem with my veins so I fear flying to my home country ....

May I visit a doctor even in this provisional regime? Sorry for bothering you with such a stupid problem but I can't get any response from my insurance company, I can speak only intermediate French and they do not speak any other language than French...

If you have arranged insurance and have signed a contract- and are just waiting for confirmation- yes, there is no problem. Explain this to the doctor and show them a copy of the provisional contract- and that will be fine.

You are actually insured from the day of registration at the city, even if you haven't signed a contract with a insurer. You have three months to do it and are insured retroactively from the date of registration.
