Swiss Efficiency at Its Best

As you may know I've moved back to the UK recently. Finally it's come to the time to get myself a nice RHD vehicle.

Apparently there is a the possibility of me transferring my no claims bonus from Switzerland to the UK. The chap on Admiral tells me that if I can get it signed and in English from the insurance company it shouldn't be a problem.

So I go on the Zurich connect website find the generic email address and shoot a typical porsch1909 lazy email in all English with no policy details and didn't even sign it off with my full name.

Less than 2 hours later I have an email with a PDF in English with all the details on it.

Amazing. Swiss efficiency at its best.

Now I just need to find a company that will accept percentages from a non-EU country :/

There are times when it is truly scary how efficiently all the paperwork flows between institutions.

Please don't! The real reason of this thread is to see if anyone knows any insurance companies that would accept my no claims in the UK!

Re: Swiss Efficiency at Its Best

When we moved to CH from the UK we were with Churchill ( Bulldog) Insurance. They had a link with Winterthur Ins and our no claim bonuses were honoured by Winterthur without any problem. When we came back to the UK we went with Churchill again and no problem.
I would try Churchill Insurance & Winterthur who I think are part of the AXA group.

Re: Swiss Efficiency at Its Best

Tesco will, but you have to to prove that the insurance was stopped in Switzerland, since you cannot have no claims on more than one policy, just having a letter stating your no claims is not enough. We managed to get one from Axa (in English) to say that the policy was closed and it was accepted. Before we did that we sent them a copy of the Abmeldung letter, but they wouldn't accept that.
