I start a job in Geneva in September and am considering living across the border in France. I have a whopper of a pre-existing health condition that would prevent me from signing up with private health insurer in France, so I'll have to get basic health cover from a Swiss company. My main question is that I think I read somewhere that I could be charged a higher monthly premium because I live in France. If true, how much are we talking about, roughly?
In general, although probably not the right forum, how do rents compare now in the outlying areas of Geneva, or up in canton Vaud, Nyon, etc. with rents in France given the steady decline in value of the Swiss franc against the euro?
Re: Swiss health insurance rates and living in France
I suggest that you contact Jenny who may be able to help you with the insurance question. The situation may have been changed by the bilateral agreements with the EU.
