Shocked, CSS excellent customer service

I am leaving Switzerland and have heard endless reports of how difficult the Health insurance companies are to deregister with. I phoned CSS with trepidation and they just said email or post us your germinder degistration certificates and your acc numbers and we will take care of it. Took me 5 minutes on the phone and email.

After the issues I used to have with Avannex this was a real suprise.

Re: Shocked, CSS excellent customer service

I had what i thought was excellent customer service from them over the phone once too, then the next thing I got was a Betreibung for non-payment... No way I'll deal with CSS again.

Thank you for the warning. I haven't received a confirmation from them yet so will chase that up.

Compared with Avanex where I submitted claims for 3 years without getting a credit until I chased and then finally got a huge rebate CSS has been relatively decent. I still hate that I cannot get a policy in English and despite every insurer promising me English language correspondance, none has delivered. Basically I hate the whole process and will be happy to be rid of it. The whole process could be re-engineered in a far more consumer friendly and cheaper way.

I'm with SWICA, and they do send offers and policies in English. They are not the cheapest, but at least everything in English :-)

I had no problems with Avannex, when I deregistered. Avannex also can do English
You will need to show insurance cover in the new country as CSS are responsible for you for 3 months as a tourist after you leave CH.
