Travel Insurance

Hi

I am going to Venezuela in a couple of weeks and should probably get travel insurance. I say "probably" as I think I am covered by Sanitas and my work insurance but I am not 100% sure. Is it possible to buy a stand-alone UK style travel insurance policy, valid just for a 2 week trip to fully make sure. Just in case I get bitten by the snake, express kidnapped etc..

Re: Travel Insurance

Have a read of your cover with Sanitas.

A lot of companies already cover you for travel so it may be a bit superfluous to pay twice for the same thing.

Check which complementary insurance you have, and if you can't find any other info., just give them a ring

Re: Travel Insurance

Our insurance had worldwide cover except USA where we were covered for CHF100,000.
However, I’m a bit annoyed now as we recently asked to change the semi private ward option on our policy to a communal ward, they duly did this and the monthly savings are quite significant, however, it now turns out that we are only covered for CHF20,000 abroad and zero in the USA. I don’t know why this option of which ward we stay in should affect our type of medical cover abroad, but then again, I don’t know a lot of things.
Check the small print.

Nick.
