Refund due if you sell the higher value car on a Wechselschild policy?

We recently sold the higher value car of the two insured on a Wechselschild policy? Are we supposed to get a refund, since the car remaining on the policy/numberplate is worth quite a lot less?

Is it true that the premium is based on the higher value car only, in a Wechselschild policy?

(I've tried to contact the insurance agent several times, but he seems on perpetual holiday - as so often seems the case here, with people you thought work for a living....)

You get one for either car being sold, both tax and insurance.

But at this time of year, it won't be much.

Did you send the insurance a registered letter stating that the car has been sold?

The licensing office tell the insurance if the grey card gets cancelled, no need for a registered letter. I did this once when the Porsche got called for an MFK in the winter.

Yes, but in this case they just suspend the insurance, and only refund if you don't re-register it within a year (I do this yearly on several vehicles).

The letter is required if you want the refund before then.

The tax refund is immediate, however.

Had to call the insurance agent once in such a case, as there was no refund in the expected time frame.

About more expensive car: Price is one factor, displacement, and power an other.

About non reachable agent: If a call my agent and he is not available, I get transfered to the main office. Friendly people, answered most questions I had.

I had two cars on one plate and when the insurance company was notified by the STV they made a mistake and deleted the car with the lower value. They sent me a letter telling me a refund was due with an attachment. As soon as I read it I could see the error and I contacted them.
