Health insurance not sufficient?

I have taken health insurance with Groupe Mutuel (Mutuel Krankenversicherung AG). When registering my health insurance on www.stadt-zuerich.ch/dkk and selecting the insurance provider I get:

"Please note that this declaration does not have complete health insurance."

I opted for PrimaTel model to keep the cost low. Is this not sufficient? Is anyone able to advise what the message means?

Re: Health insurance not sufficient?

It looks OK. You choose your doctor and then always contact him first, he can then transfer you if you need a specialist.

If you are fully employed you do not need accident insurance, company pays that.

The policy doesn't mention hospital costs, but I believe these must be paid for by the insurance in the multi-bed ward. It won't cover some therapies, private hospital, and anything else it doesn't have to pay for.

The site is in English, so you should be able to find what is covered, or even ask the person who sold you the policy.

Re: Health insurance not sufficient?

According to the Groupe Mutuel website the Primatel option is accepted as a basic obligatory insurance so I have no idea what that message means.

Re: Health insurance not sufficient?

Thanks for the reply guys.

I have taken a look also and it seems that the PrimaTel model should be sufficient so not really sure what the message means. I have emailed Groupe Mutuel to see what they say.

Re: Health insurance not sufficient?

GM primatel is a perfectly fine and accepted basic insurance. You must have misunderstood the message - what did it say in German?

Re: Health insurance not sufficient?

Often in Switzerland, the message comes across in a bad form. I expect the group Mutuel was asking the applicant to consider buying the extra optional insurance.
