Krankenkasse Health Insurance - Gym Membership?

Hello,
I am going to switch my health insurance before the end of this month.

Does anyone have an insurance that pays MORE than 200CHF a year towards your gym membership?

It seems that most companies offer this as an extra package which costs around 17CHF a month 12x17=204CHF since most only pay for max 200CHF towards my gym membership, I really don't see the point of getting this extra package.

Many thanks for sharing your experiences.

Apparently, no free lunch! I searched some months ago and concluded that it was pointless to upgrade the health insurance just to get a gym contribution.

Swica.

They advertised that they pay up to CHF600 last year. What that really means I don't know, but I hear that most people do get the CHF600 if they join certain health clubs...

Re: Krankenkasse Health Insurance - Gym Membership?

Yeah, I'm with Aquilina and I pay 15CHF per month, and they will give me up to 1/2 the gym membership costs, up to 300CHF. So I still can save up to 120CHF, while not being amazing is better than a kick in the teeth!

Plus I can get money off for the physio and other 'Wellness' (gotta love that word!) activites, such as the thermal baths etc.

Re: Krankenkasse Health Insurance - Gym Membership?

Thanks for posting this, I have the same question, just joined local gym yesterday and since it came to 1000chf a year I wonder if Helsana (base) chips in anything? I have a feeling they don't and should probably just call them, but thanks for any input..

Re: Krankenkasse Health Insurance - Gym Membership?

If someone here is in the same boat as me and Mrs. Bender, EGK doesn't. I made an attempt previous week to try that, but the polite lady on the phone declined partial payment for Gym/Fitness Center, on a basic health insurance plan. Of course, I tried to pull the trick by trying to take the supplementary insurances, but it isn't worth.

Sanitas = 300 Swissies / year (in the plan I have and I am not sure which one that is)
