Recommendation for an English speaking Insurance Broker

Hello All

I am ploughing through the health insurance minefield and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good insurance broker in the Zurich/Zug region? I will also later need personal liability insurance.....

It would be much appreciated.

thanks

Although based in Basel, they probably do other places as well...

NVC Neutrales Versicherungs-Center AG
www.nvc.ch
Nauenstrasse 41
4052 Basel, Switzerland
061 227 95 95

Ask for Beat von Allmen - speaks good English...

Have used him for 10 years.

Re: Recommendation for an English speaking Insurance Broker

Well it's been said many times before, but I also wanted to recommend Jenny. We were completely rubbish and left sorting out our health insurance til the last minute. We were also really confused by it all. Jenny gave us loads of helpful info, found us a better quote than we'd found on comparis and sorted everything out for us. She even completed all the paperwork for us whilst she was on holiday!

We live in the canton Bern, I am thinking of contacting the above person. Can anyone recommend anyone who especially specialises in health insurance matters in our area? Are insurance brokers affiliated to specific insurance goups, or will they give me an unbiased recommendation to a company? Do these brokers find out any questions you have even after they have taken out an insurance policy for you (and do they charge for this)?

We are with Assura at present and have had very negative experiences of them, eg they never phone back when they promise, reply to queries or other correspondance I have sent them asking questions. There is not much point (apart from it being the law of course ;-) to have this health insurance when I can't actually use it because they will not answer my questions. We have been perservering for over a year trying to get answers, and we've had no luck.

Also, can anyone recommend if there is something similar to "citizen's advice bureau" here in Switzerland with an English speaking contact?

I'm sure the system must work, but I am just so confused by it all!

I would talk to Jenny as well (her user name is Jenny). She can really help you with finding some alternatives, and figuring out what to do. If you can't sort out your current insurance company and are still dissatisfied, you might check out Innova (in Gumligen) when it's time for you to change. We've had them for 3 years and have been very pleased with their service. Also they have some ENglish speaking people...

Re: Recommendation for an English speaking Insurance Broker

For Expat Insurance you can try the company I work for : HealthCare International

English is the primary language. If you have any questions post them, and I can look into it for you.

And your policies are accepted by the Swiss authorities for compulsory medical insurance are they?

Thanks for this
I tried Jenny but got no reply.
Can you possibly PM me if you have time if you can recommend anyone specifically in the Innova company in Gumligen (and/or if you can give me a rough idea of what their basic premiums are like)? Then I can email them directly.
